Happy Winter Days

This past weekend we drove up to Grandma and Grandpa Conover's and had a fantastic time! Friday night we hired a sitter and headed to one of our favorite spots...Venturas...with great family friends.

Saturday...Doug and I were crazy and ventured out in the never ending snow storm (almost 12 inches) to house hunt with a realtor. We looked at almost 15 houses...whew! Long day but so much fun and good to get a great start on our "list". Definitely found a few that have future Fighter home potential. Of course we're waiting to sell before buying...so if you know of anyone who's looking for a great home... :-)

While Doug and I were out braving the elements, Grandma ventured out herself to buy Ava the cutest snow suit ever, and...purple sled. Doug and I came home to my dad pulling the abominable snowman, Ava, around the house in the sled. She absolutely LOVES the snow and thought this free ride from Grandpa was the greatest. Katelyn came out to join her...her first real venture in the snow. At first she thought it was fun, but after a few minutes, realized it was cold and so we took her back in. She preferred to watch her sis from the window! A few cute pics below of the girls in the sled, Kate's first "sit" in the snow, and Ava pulling Kate in the sled.
Saturday night my mom made a great dinner and Uncle Rob and Aunt Carly came over for a fun family night of just hanging out.
Sunday was church, then mom and I took Ava to sled at Northview's hill. Brought back memories for sure! Ava had an absolute blast....and so did we. I bet my mom was one of the only grandma's (if not the only) sledding on the hill that day. Love it! I told Ava that she had a pretty fun Grandma...and she goes..."yeah...she likes to turn the sled backwards" :-)
I love the snow...it just makes everything SO beautiful...and it is SO much fun to play in. Happy winter days!!!

What fun! Ah, the Northview hill...I bet it looks smaller than it did when we were little! So great to get to share that with your adorable girls! Good luck with the house hunt in Toledo. I'm jealous that you'll be close to your family:)
