No Secrets Here

I finally ventured out for my first day of Christmas shopping Thursday - DSW our first stop. Mission...to find Doug a nice pair of brown "going out" boots. I always have trouble picking out clothes/shoes for him and was just so excited because I found a pair (on sale) and thought for sure he would love them. A score for sure...so proud of myself (you know how it is after you find the perfect gift?).

Fast forward Friday night to Doug, Kate, Ava and I eating dinner around our table, talking casually about the day's events....

Ava: (out of no where) "Daddy...we got you shoes for a Christmas Present."

Christmas surprise spoiled. I about choked....Doug laughingly prodded for more details. No secrets here in this fam! Moral of the story...don't take your 3 year old Christmas shopping with you!

lol Keem! The girls are so cute! Happy belated b-day to Ava. She is the uber 3-year-old. Her antics sounds familiar to a little boy around here! Adorable! I can't get over how big and mature she looks in her birthday pics! Tell Doug to enjoy his shoes... Hugs in this holiday season!!

Olivia's 2 months!

Here are some pics of Olivia at two months. Usually a happy baby unless she's hungry or has gas! She is so curious...taking in all the sights around her and constantly watching her sisters. I love her blue eyes, her long eye lashes (just like her daddy's) and her smiles (which just melt me!). She is also trying to talk...cooing often...trying to get a word in with her noisy sister's. Ava always asks me..."what's Olivia saying"? She is sleeping fairly well...down around 9:30 until 4 AM, eats...then back down until 7AM. What a week!

We returned from our relaxing vacation last Saturday, gearing up for a busy week of Vacation Bible School, Katelyn's second birthday and month end at work for me. Sunday started off great...church, lunch, nap for the girls...and I finished up some things for VBS (which started that night). Ava (who was fine that morning), woke up from her nap with a 104 temp so we gave her some Motrin and Doug stayed home with her while Kate and I went to church for a fun night of VBS (Kate had an absolute ball!). We didn't think much of the temp as Ava has always been prone to high temps and Motrin has always kept them in check...they usually only last 24 hours and then she's over it. That night she woke up with a croup cough (which she also always seems to get when coming down with a cold...nothing new to us) so we did the normal steam (you can also do cool air), a little more Motrin to get through the night and had plans to visit the pediatrician in the morning. Fun day with my girls...

What a fun day to ring out my favorite month of the year... 7am...work & coffee (I love my coffee!) 8:30am...girls up, breakfast, playtime (and a little bit of laundry) 10:30am...Depart the Fighter residence for what turned out to be a four hour outing with the girls that included rare shopping trips at Old Navy & Macy's, lunch at Chick- fil -A, play-time at the mall playground, and gummies from the candy shop. Some favorite moments... Ava trying to try on clothes with me in the Old Navy dressing room. I looked over and she had 2 tank tops over her head and was asking for more. Where's the camera when you need it! Kate rapidly throwing her hands up in the air with a big smile (her gesture for the so big game) after I finished telling Ava that she is going to be 3 and is getting "so big". Kate heard those 2 words and couldn't help herself. She repeated the "so big" gesture for about 3 minutes until it was time to leave...cracking herself up the w...
