I am so behind with blogging - trying to feverishly play catch up!  This summer has been fast and busy...but so wonderful to say the very least.  We have had fun (for the most part!).   I'm sort of sad the girls are going back to school in a few weeks - trying to soak up every bit of it that we can.  That being said...I need to keep up with my journaling!  So here I am.  And these will be numbered once I catch up to this day.  Lots of pictures coming from this summer....I am a slacker!  But outside has been calling...

611. My childhood home.  The girls and I spent the night at my parents last night - and I'm convinced that a night in the home I grew up in is one of the best things for my soul.  So many memories there - time with mom and dad.  I love sleeping in my childhood room...with my two year old snoring in the crib next to me. Just what I needed.  And my mom and I went shoe shopping and I got a new purse too (orange...woohoo!)...so shopping therapy may have elated my mood a bit too:-)

612. My dad's coffee.  No one makes coffee like him.  And it's even one of the cheaper kinds...must be the Bunn.  The best perk me up - but also could sit there drinking it all day long!

613. Day trips.  The girls, my dad and I drove North to the Henry Ford Museum.  We stopped at Culver's on the way for butter burgers and fries (The.Best.)...then spent the whole afternoon at the museum.  The girls just loved it.  They love anything that has to do with trains and airplanes - they were so interested in the gears, turbines, pistons, steam engines....maybe future engineers like their dad/great grandfathers/uncle/second cousin/God Mother Kacy???  Just maybe:-)  They come from a long line and get so excited about how things work - I love their questions.  It is so fun watching them learn and showing them new things.

614. History.  I love history.  Everything about it.  The museum transported us back in time - old kitchens from the 1700's forward.  History of trains, cars, airplanes, furniture, clocks...presidential cars.  Even the Oscar Meyer wiener mobile:-)  This stuff is so neat to me and one of my favorite things to do is take all this stuff in!

615. Rain.  So soothing!  We haven't had too many rainy days this summer...and...I'm not going to complain about the sun but just LOVE a good rainy day.  We came home from the museum and I put my pj's on immediately and made noodles with cheese sauce for dinner.  We then snuggled in my chair and watched TV and listened to it rain.  Ahhhh.

616. God is so good.  He gives us such beautiful things for free to enjoy (rain & family) and has blessed people with knowledge to invent and build and make some pretty cool things.  I loved this quote on the wall at Henry Ford from a Tennessee farmer:  "The greatest thing in the world is to have the love of God in your heart. The next greatest thing to have is electricity in your house."
