The Fighter's

As a kid, one of my absolute favorite memories was traveling North to my best friend Libby's cottage during the summer.  We always had such great times up there...lots of swimming, time with friends, camp fires, boating, learning how to ski, wave runnering...all ingredients to fun summer memories!  And this weekend...Libby and I got to spend time up at the same lake once again...but this time with our husbands and three kids a piece!  We had such a fantastic time (adults and kids).  I can't think of a better way to spend a few summer days than with great friends, soaking up the sun and giggles from kids who were just so excited to have a chance to explore all that comes with a lake.  It was wonderful!   It's also fun to think about how my friendship with Lib has traveled over the years...friends since elementary school...we were attached at the hip in junior high (I was incredibly shy...she did all my talking for me at the lunch table:-)), friend...

Two weeks ago today I was giving my little brother a lecture on popping the question - it has after all been 5+ years, Lindsay is an absolute keeper and he is head over heels about her.  Pat remained tight lipped and sort of egged me on with my lecture...little did I know... One week ago Pat came downstairs at my parents house and said to my mom, dad, Doug and I "I made a purchase", then pulled out a ring.  My mom and I jumped up and down all over the living room...squealing and acting like a couple of 6th graders.  My dad then high fived my mom.  Pat was finally going to pop the question... And today... Pat asked Lindsay to be his wife!  He planned it out perfectly with a nice dinner out, walk in the park where he got down on one knee, asked...and she responded tearfully..."are you kidding me?"  Obviously she said YES!  He also coordinated a meeting place for all of her favorite people...her wonderful family from Cincinnati, friends from all over...
