After 6 days with a sore throat and a gradually fading voice, my voice box decided to call it quits today. I didn't realize until I called my dad up this morning at 8am for some guidance on a utilization calculation for work, opened up my mouth, and....nothing! So...this was a dilemma. Husband out of town. No voice. Two demanding children. Hmmmm. But we made it through today. With some squeaking, a lot whispering, some "mom" grimaces (and smiles too)...we made it through. Ava kept saying..."mom, talk loud" and at times got frustrated, but by the end of the day she was so cute and whispering with me. I explained to her this morning that my voice was sick which was why I had to whisper...and then later in the day she started asking..."voice feel better mom?" She also just thought it was so hilarious when I put her to bed, whispering her prayers, Jesus Loves Me, The B-I-B-L-E and Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer (our nightly bed-side routine for about the p...
Can't forget Baby Fighter...the girls and I trekked to my 24 week appointment today and got to hear his/her heartbeat! It was strong and perfect!! Yay ! Although this little one likes to move as soon as the Doppler hears the heartbeat...stage fright? Ava was enamored by the whooshing sound and Kate just sort of sat there, unimpressed:-) So far, outside of a few minor aches and pains this pregnancy has been good. My BP was 116/58...no swelling...and on track as far as measurements. And my energy has been up lately so I'm praying this continues ( although we'll see how "cheery" I am 8.5 months pregnant, in the middle of August. All about the attitude...right??)!! And let me just tell you how funny it is to take a 3 year old to the OB office...Ava is going through a "why" and "what's that" phase and it definitely added some comedy to the doctors, nurses and my day:-) So excited for Baby Fighter's arrival!!
I can't believe my baby is 4 months old already. Time is flying. She is such a fun girl. She is definitely a mama's girl but smiles at the sight of her daddy and big sisters. Olivia is by far the loudest baby of all 3...constantly babbling (perhaps trying to keep up with her big sisters) and I have never seen a baby spit up so much. Part of the reason our laundry is never ending! Milestones include rolling over (only twice...probably a factor of the way she was positioned), lots of babbles...mamamama, babababa and squeals, tons of smiles and giggling (my personal favorite). She is also bearing weight on her legs and holding her head up well (likes to catch all the action). Sleep wise...she goes down around 7:30, sleeps until 3AM, eats, goes back down until 6/7, eats...then goes back down until 8/9. Hopefully we'll start getting some even longer stretches here shortly, but honestly we can't complain! She has always been our cat napper, but has recently been taking 2.5 ...
