538. Ten fingers all in tact.  We had our first little mishap and ER trip with Kate.  Her and Ava snuck into the off limits treadmill room to play...Ava had the treadmill on and a curious little Kate somehow got her fingers caught in the belt.  Her scream sent chills through my whole body - I ran down, pulled the emergency cord and held my breath as I pulled her hand out.  Thankfully her little pointers were all there - just badly beat up.  I called my dad who was over quick to watch the other two while Doug and I rushed her to the ER.  The fantastic staff ran some X-rays to make sure nothing was broken and treated the wounds on her 3 fingers.  The surface area was so large that they could not stitch - so they treated as burns.  We were SO proud of Kate.  After we got her calmed down...she was SOOO brave for the nurses and docs.  They could not even believe it.  That's our Kate - she's a tough cookie - and was all smiles upon exit. ...

533.  My little Katie Kate who is so full of life and fun.  Her teacher had an end of year ice cream bash at her house.  Kate talked about it for days and was SO excited when the time finally came.  The planted tomato plants, ate ice cream, played, danced and hula hooped.  Love this picture.  It captures the essence of my fun, artsy, full of life 4 year old!!  She dressed herself for the party - sunglasses and all.  I love my Katelyn Jane! 534. Surprise pictures on my phone - which was stolen by a 4 year old pre bedtime.

531.  Wrestling sisters.  Who needs boys...the Fighter girls are tough.  And they have great hair in the morning:-) 532.  Band-aids that fix any ailment - and provide instant comfort and entertainment.  Boo-boo's not necessary.  We should buy stock in band-aid.
530. Reminders that we are His beloved stemming from my six year old's hums. Tonight Ava was humming this song and kept saying that she loved it:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSIVjjY8Ou8 So...we looked up this video, watched it, talked about what the word beloved means and what it means to be His beloved.  That even when we are sad, hurt, scared, lonely, nervous or unsure - we are always His beloved.  When we make mistakes, wrong choices or things don't go how we planned or hoped - we are His beloved.  All the time.  No matter what.  We belong to Him.  And He loves us. This is our identity. And what a comfort this is and what peace and joy it brings. I pray with all my heart that my girls realize their true identity.  That they know that they and everyone else around them are beautiful in His eyes. I pray for confident, strong, joy filled loving girls who are able to share true joy with others.  That they understand that we al...

522.  Ava Bean and her successful year of kindergarten.  Can't believe it's already coming to an end.  Really??  My baby is going to first grade?  I think I'm having a harder day with the last day of kindergarten than I did with her first day.  She is getting so big and grew up so much and made us so proud this year. 523. Field day, last day, summer anticipation at the bus stop with one of her good buddies! 524. The ability to join in and observe field day festivities.  Kate came too and had a blast.  Ava's classmates thought Kate was the coolest which of course made Kate feel extra special. 525. Proud big sisters who won't let go of little sister's hands. 526. New, sweet friends who made Kindergarten that much more fun for Ava. 527. Watching your child grow and learn, smile and have fun.  Not much more warms my heart. 528. Teachers who devote SO much heart, time and energy into our children's education. ...

513. Preschool celebration!  Kate finished up another great year of preschool. 514. Sweet little voices singing "This Little Light of Mine".   515. Watching my proud girl walk over a little bridge to collect a special certificate from Mrs. Cheryl. 516. Mrs. Cheryl.  I couldn't have asked for a better teacher match for Kate's personality - she has been so sweet, patient, kind with Katelyn...I love knowing that Kate's in such wonderful hands when at preschool. You may have to hunt a little bit to find Kate (she has the hot pink bow on)! 517. Little sisters up front and center to cheer on their sis!  518.  Cake! 519. Sweet childhood honesty and simpleness.  The second response below from Katelyn is my favorite! A few shots of Kate and her friends from the school year... 520. Sissy love.
