Perks of Grandpa C....

Image
One of the perks of having a grandpa is a director of a technology and training center - when there is  a Women in Technology day, you get to skip normal school and go to amazing experiences like this!  Ava was by far the youngest lady there but she held her own and learned about robots and some of the neat things they have the capability of doing.  She also learned a bit about welding and machining.  Pretty cool.  And right up her ally.  She even got to help Grandpa's co-workers set up for the day while Grandpa attended a meeting and afterwards she had an excellent review about her smiley work ethic.  So proud of my little professional tech loving bean.  And thankful for her Grandpa who takes her to cool things like this!

Jet James is 7!

Not sure where time has gone but we got to join in celebrating this guy in style!  He loves his airport birthday parties so we drove up North for some swimming, pizza and cousin fun.  These kids love each other so much.  And we love our smart, caring, funny Jet James.  Did someone say it's time to swim????!!!  Katelyn was the official pool toy thrower since she had to sit out with her casted broken ankle.  She was a little bummed but a good sport about it.

Friday Nights with Olivia

Image
Olivia gets to spend Friday nights with Doug and I (because her sisters are at dance).  She has adventurous taste buds and tonight we took her out to sushi.  Cutest little sushi-eater ever if I do say so myself!

Creepy Wig Heads...

I'm not sure what my life has come to but here I am on this night...sewing costumes and staring at creepy wig heads.  The life of a Dance Mom....

Klutzy Kate

Image
Klutzy Kate with the broken ankle comes by it honestly. Gracefulness does not run in my genes.  She had a chance to inherit some from her father but must have missed out.  She walked in the door, slipped and landed with a huge thud on her back.  I thought we may be off to the urgent care again - but klutziness is making her tough!

Top Chefs and Letting Go of Christmas Decor

Image
The girls have been into watching Kids Top Chef and Kids Baking Challenge lately.  I've been trying to let go of my clean kitchen to let them create.  Today they made chocolate covered strawberries with sprinkles.  I think they got more sprinkles on the floor than the strawberries....but the girls are pretty darn cute chocolate strawberry artists - aren't they?  And their strawberries were excellent! And now to my Christmas decor.  Every year I have the hardest time taking my decorations down...I love, love, love Christmas and all the warmth, decorations and trees that come with it.  My trees seem to be going up earlier and earlier each year...and my "Winter" decoration collection that I put up after Christmas seems to be growing.  I've found that my "Winter" decorations (aka toned down Christmas decor) helps me go through the withdrawal process from Christmas.  Here is a Christmas table box that I turned into a Valentines Day box (see the hearts)!

This girl...

Our Lou.  She still loves her Ellie.  She still loves her blankie.  And she's still as sweet as can be.  She has a smile, creativity and a happy and whimsical laugh that can light up any room!  She also thinks her daddy is pretty neat.  Love our Lou.

New Years 2017

Image
Going to try this blog thing again.  It's 2017 and Fighters are back on blogspot...I've missed writing and journaling and I've realized how much my kids love looking through the "yearbooks" created from this site.  So here we are!  New Years!  It has been 8 years since we moved from Columbus but our NYE tradition with our old neighbors held strong this year!  Love these people.  All of us were newlyweds when we moved in next door to each other.  So many memories...lots of parties, lots of spontaneous backyard fires, lots of new mom chats, lots of meals shared...lots of memories.  Love these people.  Here's to lasting friendships and here's to 2017!   The guys were crazy and decided to put the extra dry Christmas tree in the outdoor chimney.  Boys will be boys... Doug kicking off his 40th year in style.  Love the mullet.
