Kate's First Haircut

Image
Our little hair twister has started twisting her hair so much that her finger gets stuck. She'll run up to us saying..."help...my finger stuck." And often times she twists it so much that she ends up with dread locks, which we have to cut out of her hair. So we headed to cookie cutters and they took off an inch all over. She was like an old pro at getting her hair done. And...despite my fear of her curls disappearing ...they're still there, curlier than ever:-) We've been calling her curly Sue. Here are some pics...I especially like the last one!

Awesome Dad

A cute comment from Ava today as we left Costco... Doug was up ahead of Kate & I as we headed to our car. He was trying to impress his girls by holding onto the cart and jumping into the air. Ava & Kate were laughing hysterically. Then Ava said..."look at Dad...he's pretty awesome." When we caught up to Doug at the van...Ava said to Doug..."you're pretty awesome." Love it:-)

Olivia's 2 months!

Image
Here are some pics of Olivia at two months. Usually a happy baby unless she's hungry or has gas! She is so curious...taking in all the sights around her and constantly watching her sisters. I love her blue eyes, her long eye lashes (just like her daddy's) and her smiles (which just melt me!). She is also trying to talk...cooing often...trying to get a word in with her noisy sister's. Ava always asks me..."what's Olivia saying"? She is sleeping fairly well...down around 9:30 until 4 AM, eats...then back down until 7AM. During the day she is our little cat napper...20/30 minute spurts throughout the day...unless she's in her car seat. She loves it and can sleep forever in that thing! Here is our little Olivia Ann...

Butterfly Cookies

Image
Ava had her birthday celebration at school today. We made butterfly cookies with blue frosting and pink sprinkles and put them in princess goodie bags. The girls helped and are excellent bakers if I do say so myself:-)

Olivia's Baptism

Image
Olivia was baptised today! We got to dress her up in the same princessy baptismal dress her sisters wore, family joined us at church (Uncle Tim drove in for the occasion) and Uncle Rob & Aunt Carly stood as her Godparents. Pastor Paul baptised her...she slept through the whole thing! Ava & Kate insisted on coming up front to witness the occasion and I loved standing there as a family watching Olivia, through Grace, receive the gift of faith in her heart. Afterwards we celebrated with our church family with cake (from Costco...yum!)...and then had a small luncheon with our family back at our house. Here are some shots from the day. I also copied the words to her baptismal song...I think it's such a pretty song and always get teary eyed when I hear it! We have sung it at all 3 of the services in which the girls were baptised and I thought I'd write it down for the memory books and as a reminder to our girls one day of the One who will be through them every step of the w

Fun with Friends

Image
A cute shot of Ava & Kate with one of my oldest friend's adorable girls. Since moving we have been able to hang out with her and her family. The girls are around the same age and Ryan and Lib are the best! We went to a bouncy place and Max & Erma's today. So much fun and thankful we got to spend time with them today!!

Chef Doug

Image
I took the girls with me to the gym tonight and came home to this! Doug whipped up dinner for me and the girls...chopped salad with an amazing Greek dressing, mini hamburgers and shoe string french fries. He got the girls blue frosted cookies (as you can see from Kate's face). I love my hubby! And these sort of surprises totally make my day! I'm a lucky girl:-)

Kate's Story Hour

Image
Kate, Olivia and I have started going to story hour at our local library while Ava is at preschool. It's geared towards children Kate's age...and she absolutely loves it (and so do I)! Every story hour has a theme (we had Halloween, frogs, babies, etc.)...the librarian reads different stories, we sing songs, they sometimes play a short movie...and sometimes we do a craft. Well Kate absolutely loves it and I think it makes her feel like a "big kid". She raves about story hour for the rest of the day...telling her big sis Ava all about it when we pick her up from pre-school, sings the songs...and often reminisces very matter of factly about it with Doug and I. Today the theme was frogs. For the craft they decorated a frog with stickers. When we left, Kate held onto a row of dot stickers. We went to pick Ava up from preschool and when I opened the van door to let Ava in, Kate started laughing hysterically. We looked up and she had put the dot stickers all over her face.

Lady Bug Smuggler

Image
So...Ava smuggled her lady bug jar to preschool today. She loves bugs. And she loves her new lady bug jar that Doug made for her out of a pickle jar yesterday. The same jar that she carried throughout her Aunt Carly's shower and places on her dresser when it's time to sleep. When we got up this morning she brought her lady bug jar down for breakfast and placed it in her book bag...without me knowing. When I picked her up from school that day, her teacher Miss Karen came out and said..."we loved the lady bugs today". I was at first confused, then looked in Ava's book bag and...there was her lady bug jar. Surprise! She had a smirk on her face and I think she though she was in trouble. Miss Karen said she loved it and they actually turned it into a lesson for the kids:-) I couldn't help but laugh...but did explain to her that the lady bugs needed to stay home while she was at school. From now on I will be checking her book bag for smuggled objects. Here

My Girls!

Image
So there are many reasons I love ALL my girls so, so much. Here are a few things that they did today that melted my heartstrings... We had Aunt Carly's baby shower today at church and I brought all 3 girls with me. While we ate and "showered" Aunt Carly & Uncle Rob, the kids who came played in the church nursery and had fun running and playing tag up and down the hall. Their squeals, laughs and smiles were endless. After the shower Doug came to help where needed, but Ava stole him and Kate down to the sanctuary and led them through a "whole" church service. They prayed at the alter...quoting Ava "thank you Jesus for loving us" and sang Jesus Loves Me and Deep and Wide. Ava even snuck in communion. This melted my heartstrings for two reasons: The first...it warms my heart watching the girls play in church. My parents always had us at church. Whether for Sunday School, service, spaghetti or Maggie and Jig's dinner's, cleaning days, leaf rakin
